Calendula Pharmacodynamics
Calendula tincture has antiseptic, choleretic, antispasmodic and local anti-inflammatory effects.
Indications .
Used topically as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent for cuts, bruises, eczema, topically – for gargling the throat for inflammatory diseases of the pharynx (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis) and oral mucosa (stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontitis).
Inside, calendula tincture is used for cholecystitis, cholangitis.
Contraindications .
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. When applied internally – acute gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase, calculous cholecystitis, pregnancy, lactation, age under 18 years.

With caution – liver disease, alcoholism, brain injury, brain disease.
Dosage and administration.
- Outwardly, locally, orally.
- Areas with superficial skin injuries (cuts) are treated with the tincture with a tampon. When bruises and eczema used aqueous solution of tincture (1 teaspoon per cup of water) in the form of lotions. To rinse the throat and mucous membranes of the mouth use 1/2 – 1 cup aqueous solution of tincture. Inside, apply 10-20 drops diluted in 1/4 cup water before meals 3 times a day.
