Description
Bifidumbacterin suppositories Pharmacodynamics
Bifidumbacterin is a microbial mass of live bifidobacteria strain Bifidobacterium bifidum № 1, lyophilically dried in a culture medium with the addition of protective (sucrose-gelatin) drying medium and lactose (monohydrate), molded into suppositories.
Live microbial cells of bifidobacteria have high antagonistic activity against pathogenic and opportunistic microbes, including staphylococci, Proteus, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, shigella, yeast-like fungi, which determines the normalizing effect of the drug in disorders of intestinal and vaginal biocenosis. Displacement of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microflora helps to restore normoflora.
Indications
Bifidumbakterin suppositories are used rectally for the treatment of adults and children over 3 years.
Rectally in adults and children:
– Chronic colitis of various etiologies with pronounced pathological processes in the distal parts of the intestine;
– Medical treatment of patients who had acute intestinal infections in the presence of intestinal dysfunction, excretion of pathogens or pronounced dysbacteriosis of various etiologies;
Vaginally in adults:
– Nonspecific colpitis (not associated with gonococcal, trichomonad and other specific infections); administered as an independent agent or after completion of antibacterial therapy;
– vaginal dysbiosis, including bacterial vaginosis (gardnerellosis); prescribed as an independent agent or in combination with immunobiological drugs;
– Subacute and chronic stages of vaginal inflammatory processes, prescribed after the completion of antibiotic therapy to normalize the microflora;
– hormone-dependent colpitis: senile, etc.; prescribed as an independent agent against the background of specific hormonal therapy;
– Preparation for routine gynecological surgery in order to prevent postoperative infectious complications;
– Prenatal preparation of pregnant women “at risk” for the development of inflammatory diseases in order to prevent and treat vaginal dysbiosis;
– as an adjunct in the treatment of urogenital infections and other sexually transmitted diseases: gonorrhea, urogenital chlamydia, genital herpes, etc. The drug is used to restore normal microflora in combination with or after specific antimicrobial, antiviral and immunomodulatory therapy.
Perhaps a combined use of suppositories and oral forms of Bifidobacterium bifidum on the advice of a physician.
Contraindications
