Qi-Klim Alanine Pharmacodynamics
Beta-alanine is an amino acid. It counteracts the acute release of histamine, but has no antihistamine activity due to the lack of blockade of H1 receptors.
Beta-alanine has a direct effect on cutaneous peripheral vasodilation, which causes vegetative “flushes”, sensation of heat, heat, headache. At the physiological level, vasomotor “flushes” are caused by the activity of thermoregulatory centers in the hypothalamus, leading to peripheral cutaneous vasodilation. It is a consequence of the reactions which occur at imbalance of cerebral neurotransmitters, occurring after cessation of hormones secretion by ovaries. The drug promotes the saturation of peripheral neurotransmitter receptors, which are involved in this process.
Indications
Tides caused by the menopausal period.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to beta-alanine or any of the excipients of the drug.
Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding:
The drug is not intended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Directions for use and dosages
- The drug is used orally.
- 1-2 tablets daily. The dose can be increased to 3 tablets a day. Duration of treatment – from 5 to 10 days until the disappearance of “flushes.
- If symptoms resume, a second course of treatment should be carried out.
- Due to the fact that there is no habituation to the drug, treatment may be prolonged for the entire period of vasomotor clinical disorders without limiting its duration.
