Description
Bellalgin Pharmacodynamics
It is a combined preparation with antispasmodic, antacid, local anesthetic and analgesic action. Spasmolytic action is caused by the effect of urticaria alkaloids: due to m-cholinoblocking effect, tone of smooth-muscular organs (bronchial tree, abdominal cavity organs, etc.) decreases, spasm of intestinal muscles, biliary tract is eliminated, peristalsis, secretion of digestive, salivary and other glands decreases, positive dromotropic and chronotropic effect is developed.
Local anesthetic and analgesic effect is due to sodium metamisole and benzocaine.
Sodium bicarbonate neutralizes free hydrochloric acid of gastric juice (antacid effect), having a protective effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach.
Indications
The drug is used as a symptomatic agent in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, accompanied by increased secretion of gastric juice and spasms of smooth muscles, in order to relieve heartburn, belching, pain syndrome (hyperacid gastritis, cholelithiasis, peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, spastic colitis).
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, closed-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, suppression of hematopoiesis (leukopenia, agranulocytosis, cytostatic or infectious neutropenia), severe hepatic and/or renal failure, hereditary hemolytic anemia, associated with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, bronchial asthma induced by acetylsalicylic acid and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, pregnancy (especially during the 1st trimester and during last 6 weeks), breast-feeding period, children under 6 years old.
Caution
Renal diseases (pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, including in the anamnesis), alcoholism.
Administration during pregnancy and lactation
It is contraindicated for use during pregnancy.
If it is necessary to apply the drug during breast-feeding, breast-feeding should be discontinued.
Dosage and administration
- Inside, before a meal.
- Adults: 1 tablet 2-3 times a day.
- The maximum single dose – no more than 3 tablets, daily – 10 tablets.
- Children over 6 years of age: ½ tablet 1-2 times a day.
- The drug is intended for symptomatic short-term use.
- Duration of treatment should not exceed 3 days.
- If after treatment no improvement occurs or symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear, consult a physician.
- Use the drug only according to the indications, the route of administration and the dosage indicated in the instructions.
