Mucaltine Pharmacodynamics
Mucaltin is a mixture of polysaccharides from the herb marshmallow, has expectorant properties. Due to reflex stimulation, it increases activity of the atomizing epithelium and peristalsis of respiratory bronchioles in combination with strengthening of secretion of bronchial glands.
Indications
Acute and chronic lower respiratory tract diseases, accompanied with formation of hardly discharged sputum of increased viscosity (including tracheobronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchiectasis) – in the complex therapy.
Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
– Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer;
– Childhood (under 12 years).
Use during pregnancy and lactation:
Use of the drug in pregnancy and during breast-feeding is possible under the doctor’s recommendation.
Dosage and administration.
- Inside before meals.
- Adults and children from 12 years 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day.
- Children can dissolve a tablet in a 1/3 cup of warm water.
- The average course of treatment is 7-14 days.
- If after treatment there is no improvement or symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, you should consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, the method of administration and in the doses specified in the instructions.
