Description

Hyporamine Pharmacodynamics
Hyporamine ® is a dry purified extract from the leaves of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) family Elaeagnaceae, which is a polyphenol complex galloellagotannins, whose biologically active components are hydrolysable tannins that have common structural elements in the form of glucosogalloyl and hexahydroxyphenoyl residues.
Hyporamine® has high antiviral activity against various strains – influenza A and B viruses, adenoviruses, paramyxoviruses, herpes simplex viruses, shingles, cytomegalovirus (CMV), respiratory syncytial virus (PC-virus), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection). Inhibitory effect of the drug on virus reproduction is manifested at early stages of their development. One of the mechanisms of action of the drug is inhibitory effect on viral neuraminidase.
Hyporamine® induces production of interferon in blood cells in in vitro experiments and increases interferon content in blood of patients.
The drug also has a moderate antimicrobial effect against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa), Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Candida albicans and some mycella fungi (Microsporum canis) in in vitro experiments.
Hyporamine® is low toxic. It has no allergizing, immunotoxic, mutagenic, teratogenic and carcinogenic properties.
