Picamilon Pharmacodynamics
Nootropic, dilates cerebral blood vessels. It has tranquilizing and mild psychostimulant effects, antiaggregant and antioxidant effects. Improves functional state of the brain due to normalization of tissue metabolism and influence on cerebral circulation (increases the volumetric and linear velocity of cerebral blood flow, has a vasodilator, antiaggregant, antioxidant effect, improves microcirculation). With a course of treatment increases physical and mental performance, reduces headache, improves memory, normalizes sleep, reduces or eliminates feelings of anxiety, tension, fear, emotional intemperance. Helps restore central motor and speech disorders of vascular or traumatic genesis. Improves blood circulation in vessels of the retina and optic nerve.
Indications
Adults:
– Chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency (discirculatory encephalopathy, consequences of impaired cerebral circulation), condition after craniocerebral injury, autonomic dystonia syndrome, as part of the complex treatment of depressive disorders of various genesis in old age.
– as a part of complex treatment in chronic alcoholism (reduction of asthenic, asthenoneurotic, post-psychotic, pre relapse states in alcoholic encephalopathy).
– in the complex therapy of primary open-angle glaucoma with compensated intraocular pressure (for stabilization of visual function).
– in complex therapy of vegetative dystonia syndrome, accompanied by anxiety, fear, increased irritability, asthenia, emotional lability.
– to improve the tolerance of physical and mental stress, increase stress resistance (for people who are in stressful and extreme conditions of activity, to restore the physical performance of athletes, to increase resistance to physical and mental stress).
For children over 3 years of age and adults in urological practice in case of urinary disorders to improve the adaptive function of the bladder (decrease detrusor hypoxia).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, chronic renal insufficiency, pregnancy, lactation, children under 3 years old (in children over 3 years old, used in urinary disorders).
Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding period:
Due to the fact that the safety of using the drug in pregnant and lactating women has not been established, the use of the drug during pregnancy and breast-feeding is contraindicated.
Dosage and administration method
- Intravenously by drop or stream (slowly), intramuscularly.
- Before drip infusion, the contents of the ampoule are dissolved in 200 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
- In chronic cerebrovascular failure: administer 100-200 mg once a day for 10 days intravenously, then intramuscularly. The course of treatment is 15 to 30 days. If condition improves, switch to oral form in a daily dose of 50-150 mg. The course should be repeated in 5-6 months.
- As part of the treatment of depression in the elderly: administer 50-200 mg per day for 10-15 days.
- In the treatment of chronic alcoholism 100 mg per day for 6-15 days.
- For restoring the capacity for work with increased loads it is administered in a daily dose of 200 mg for 10-15 days, for athletes – in the same dose for 14 days of training period.
- As part of the complex therapy of autonomic dystonia syndrome, 100-200 mg are prescribed for 10-15 days.
- In the complex treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma, 100-200 mg per day for 10 days.
- In treatment of urinary disorders: 100 mg intramuscularly (for children aged 3 to 10 years), 200 mg per day (for children over 11 years and adults).
