Pertussin-Ch Pharmacodynamics
Combined drug. Thyme herb extract has an expectorant effect, increases the amount of secretory discharge of mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract, helps thin sputum and accelerate evacuation. Potassium bromide reduces excitability of the central nervous system.

Indications
As an expectorant in the treatment of acute respiratory diseases, tracheitis, bronchitis, and in children with whooping cough.

Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the drug components, liver disease, alcoholism, brain injury, brain disease, epilepsy, chronic heart failure (decompensation stage), sucrose/isomaltose deficiency, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, pregnancy, breast-feeding, children (under 3 years).
Caution: diabetes, children over 3 years of age (because of the presence of ethanol in the drug).

Dosage and administration.

  • The drug is taken orally, after a meal (due to the possibility of decreased appetite).
  • Adults take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day;
  • Children from 3 to 6 years – 1 teaspoon 3 times a day;
  • Children from 6 to 12 years – 1-2 teaspoons 3 times a day;
  • Children over 12 years – 1 dessert spoon 3 times a day.
  • The course of treatment 10-14 days. Increase the duration and conduct of repeated courses of treatment is possible by doctor’s recommendation.
