Itrazol Pharmacodynamics
Antifungal drug. Itraconazole is a synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal agent, a triazole derivative. It inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol of the cell membrane of fungi, which determines the antifungal effect of the drug.
Itraconazole is active against infections caused by dermatophytes (Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., Epidermophyton floccosum), yeast-like fungi and yeasts (Cryptococcus neoformans, Pityrosporum spp, including Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida krusei), Aspergillus spp., Histoplasma spp., Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Sporothrix schenckii, Fonsecaea spp., Cladosporium spp., Blastomyces dermatidis and other yeast and mold fungi.

Indications
– dermatomycoses;
– fungal keratitis;
– Onychomycoses caused by dermatophytes and/or yeasts and molds;
– systemic mycoses: systemic aspergillosis and candidiasis, cryptococcosis (including cryptococcal meningitis), histoplasmosis, sporotrichosis, paracoccidioidomycosis, blastomycosis and other systemic or tropical mycoses
– Candida with skin or mucous membranes (including vulvovaginal candidiasis);
– pityriasis.

Contraindications
– Concomitant use with drugs that are metabolized by CYP3A4 isoenzyme (terfenadine, astemizole, misolastine, cisapride, dofetilide, quinidine, pimozide, simvastatin, lovastatin, triazolam, midazolam);
– children under 3 years of age;
– pregnancy;
– Lactation (breast-feeding);
– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
The preparation should be used with caution in patients with severe cardiac insufficiency and liver diseases (including those with hepatic insufficiency).

Dosage and administration method

  • Capsules Itrazol is taken orally after a meal.
  • Onychomycosis – 200 mg 1 time per day for 3 months or 200 mg 2 times a day for 1 week with a break for 3 weeks, 3 courses of treatment are recommended for feet onychomycosis, 2 courses for hands;
  • Vulvovaginal candidiasis – 200 mg 2 times a day, or 200 mg 1 time per day for 3 days;
  • Scabies liver – 200 mg 1 time per day for 7 days;
  • Dermatomycosis and oral candidiasis – 100-200 mg 1 time per day for 7-15 days (the course should be repeated if necessary);
  • Fungal keratitis – 200 mg 1 time per day for 21 days; systemic mycoses – 100-200 mg 1-2 times a day for 2-12 months (depending on the causative agent).
