Diazolin Pharmacodynamics
Blocker of H1-histamine receptors. It has anti-allergic effect, reduces mucosal edema. It weakens the effect of histamine on the smooth muscles of the bronchi, uterus and intestines, reduces the severity of the reduction of arterial pressure and the increase in vascular permeability. Slightly penetrating into the CNS, unlike the first generation antihistamines, it does not have a pronounced sedative and hypnotic effect. It has weakly expressed M-cholinergic and anesthetic properties. Therapeutic effect develops 15-30 minutes after intake, the maximum effect is observed after 1-2 hours. The duration of the effect may be up to 2 days.
Indications
Prevention and treatment of seasonal and allergic rhinitis, pollinosis, urticaria, Quincke’s edema, allergic dermatosis accompanied by itching (eczema, neurodermatitis, etc.), allergic conjunctivitis, skin reactions after an insect bite.
Contraindications .
Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug, prostatic hyperplasia, closed-angle glaucoma, peptic ulcer, inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, pylorostenosis, epilepsy, cardiac disorders, pregnancy, lactation, children under 3 years of age, deficiency of sugar/isomaltase, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption.
Caution:
Use with caution in patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency (dose and intervals between doses may need to be adjusted).
Pregnancy and lactation:
The use of the drug during pregnancy is contraindicated. If it is necessary to apply the drug during lactation, breastfeeding must be stopped for the duration of the drug administration.
Dosage and administration method
- The tablets should be taken orally without chewing, with or immediately after a meal. In adults and children from 12 years old it is prescribed in dose of 100 mg 1-3 times a day.
- Higher doses for adults: single dose 300 mg, daily dose 600 mg. For children aged 3 to 5 years, 50 mg 1 to 2 times a day, 5 to 10 years – 50 mg 2-3 times a day, 10 to 12 years – 50 mg 2 to 4 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the nature of the disease and the therapeutic effect achieved.
